Soap Box: Why Do You Coupon?
Morning All.
Coming off of a monster weekend of cooking, decluttering, and organizing. This morning, I'm just reflecting on why I do what I do. The past 4 days of intense organization has been in an effort to spend less time doing the things I have to do, so I can spend more time on the things I want to do. As the man child devours a new allergy free breakfast cereal. I realize it really is all for him.
If I can lower my husband and I's grocery bill, then we can always and continue to find him new foods and treats. We do our best to make sure he feels as included as possible. And if I can spend less time cleaning the house, then I can participate and create more moments like this.
I mean the man child has his own grocery budget. $100 per month. And that allows us to get his special bread, cheeses, snack bars, cereals, cookies, milk, "ice cream", pasta, etc. But each item is an average of $3-$5 dollars. Luckily, he is the only child, meaning some of these items last a little longer considering multiple people aren't consuming them but it's still pricey.
Couponing, at my house, means no one has to sacrifice. We all have more than enough of what we need. And this is why I always say, I'm spending less on the things I have to buy, so we can buy more of the things we want to buy. This past month I spent $250 including the man child's groceries. That is no small victory for my household!
Now I want to know why you're here. What drives you in deal seeking and finding? Is it a summer home, a yacht, more shoe shopping money? What is it? What inspires you to journey along with me? Post a comment below. And maybe with your responses, I can inspire you a little more!
Have a great week everyone!
